scholarly Journal of American History, Teaching Children Mathematics Paper, Microfilm or Microfiche, and Electronic
popular Time, Newsweek, Sport Illustrated
Trade Publications
for specific professions or trades Engineering News Record, eWeek
general or subject specific New York Times, Phoenix

Why use periodicals?

  • To find the most current information on a topic
  • To find information on a narrower topic

Periodicals are the best source to use to locate current, reliable information on just about any topic. In academic fields, periodicals are the major publication channel for reporting research findings and will be a "must" resource for any in-depth research project
