Knowing When to Stop

An important aspect of doing library research is knowing when to stop. For many research projects, the search for materials could continue indefinitely but you will have to complete your work at some point and turn it in for a grade.

You can stop when:

  • you start finding references to the same sources
  • every source you find restates the same information
