To find a book on the shelf, use the call number listed in the catalog Generally, material on History has call numbers beginning with D, E and F.

The D classification deals with European and World History, the E classification deals with American History and the F classification deals with local American history and the rest of North and South America. The classifications are sub-divided into many aspects of History. For example:
